Just over a week after the three-year-old Palestinian girl Selah arrived in Malta and stole the nation’s heart, her health seems to be looking up.

Palestinian ambassador Fadi Hanania posted two photos of the adorable Selah at a playing field. He informed his followers that the girl “is recovering slowly from her leg injuries, and is scheduled to receive therapy starting next week”.

“A glimpse of light,” Hanania wrote, thanking the team at Mater Dei hospital who was taking care of Selah. The little girl arrived in Malta on 20th February in order to receive urgent medical care after surviving the Israeli airstrikes in Gaza.

Her arrival at the Malta airport was quite emotional, with a sizeable crowd showing up to greet the three-year-old and her father. Selah lost her mother and brother in the ongoing war between Hamas and Israel, needing urgent surgery in Gaza.

Thanks to the power of social media, she was able to reunite with her father, and thanks to donations, the embassy, in coordination with the Maltese government, was able to organise her arrival and medical care.

We wish Selah a speedy full recovery!
