A photo of a man who seems to be plastering a seven-floor construction site in Ta’ Xbiex without the necessary safety procedures to undertake such a dangerous task was sent to Lovin Malta.

The Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA) released a statement, revealing that it “would like to confirm that it has taken immediate action on the matter.”

The OHSA shared that upon being notified of the situation, the authority took immediate action, sending officers to the location to inspect the site.

Photos taken by the OHSA on-site were sent to the newsroom.

The authority went on to say that after OHSA officers carried out the necessary investigations, “a number of irregularities were noted, including those related to the danger of falls from height.”

It went on to say that “as a result of this, the OHSA submitted the necessary notifications to regulate any deficiencies before the works can be continued.”

The authority is urging anyone who witnesses anything similar to this to contact it on either 21247677 or 99496786 (in case of an emergency after working hours) or by sending an email to [email protected].
