A Young Frenchman Has Been Fined €500 After Travelling To Malta With A Dirty Grinder
Security checks can be brutal, but one young Frenchman heading to Malta had an exceptionally bad time after customs officers at Malta International Airport found a grinder in his luggage.
After an airport scanner picked up on the grinder, several airport officials gathered to inspect William Nicolas Guillame Burlot’s suitcase. The 22-year-old, who had just travelled to Malta from Geneva, probably wasn’t ready for what he was about to see.
After opening his suitcase and finding the grinder, the group of airport officials opened the grinder, and, on a deep inspection of the tool, found traces of cannabis.
A typical grinder
The 22-year-old was arrested upon finding traces of cannabis in his grinder, and was taken to court today and charged with importation and possession of cannabis flowers.
He admitted to the charges, and was given a €500 fine by the court of magistrate Francesco Depasquale. Apart from the fine, the courts also ordered the destruction of the instrument.
It’s amazing what a couple of specks on a grinder can get you in Malta.
