AFM Officer Cadet Aidan Mallia Completes Intense US Coast Guard Training
Big congratulations are in order for Officer Cadet Aidan Dwight Mallia of the Armed Forces of Malta, who has just completed an intense three-month Officer Indoctrination School with the United States Coast Guard at their academy in New London, Connecticut.
The course wasn’t for the faint-hearted. Cadet Mallia took on advanced leadership drills, maritime command principles, search-and-rescue planning, navigation, shipboard procedures, and even survival-at-sea operations. Basically, everything you need to lead at sea under extreme conditions, and he nailed it.
This milestone is a huge step in Mallia’s career with the AFM, showing the kind of training and dedication our officers are putting in to stay ready for anything.
Malta can be proud that one of its own is learning from the best in the world and bringing those skills home.
