All In The Family: Students And Their Parents Fight It Out In Pembroke School, Leaving Two Staff Members Injured

The Maltese police force were called in to a secondary school in Pembroke after a fight involving two students that ended up involving their extended families was reported.
An altercation between two teenage students turned ugly after an older man, presumed to be a relative of one of the children, entered the school to try and attack the other boy, the police confirmed with Lovin Malta.
Two teachers or staff members were slightly injured during the incident when they attempted to break up the fight, it was reported. The two educators were taken to a polyclinic as a precaution following the brawl.
The parents involved in the fight fled the scene before the police arrived, and officers are now searching for them, it was also reported.
The Education Ministry has issued a statement on the incident, explaining what happened exactly:
“There was an incident between two students at St Clare’s College, Pembroke this morning. The administration of the school immediately called the parents of the two students. When the parent and relatives of one of the students arrived at the school, the situation escalated. The police are investigating the case, and the Ministry continues to strongly condemn any type of violence in schools, and this is exactly why the government has prioritised harsher laws against all types of violence in places of educations.”
The Ministry also offered assistance to all educators involved in the matter. The Malta Union of Teachers have also condemned the incident.
This is not the first time a fight at St Clare’s College made national news, with previous reports highlighting how the bullying situation at the school was “getting out of hand”.
