At least 124 migrants were rescued from aboard a dinghy in Maltese waters earlier this morning.

The migrants, whose condition is as yet unknown, are being brought to the island. Women and children were also on board.

The rescue mission was initiated after the dinghy found itself in difficulty hours ago, and the Armed Forces of Malta responded by sending out Patrol Boat 21, which successfully rescued all migrants aboard the ship.

The boat was found in Malta’s Search and Rescue Zone. The migrants landed at Hay Wharf today, whereupon they were treated for any medical conditions before being processed.
