Birkirkara Resident Calls For Public Assistance Following Hit And Run In Luqa
A Birkirkara resident is calling for assistance from the public after claiming to be involved in a hit and run in Luqa.
Luke Frendo explained on Facebook that the ordeal took place on 1st February around 11.45pm, where he was driving on Triq il-Kunsill tal-Ewropa.
He claimed that in the lane adjacent to him he spotted a Toyota Auris “driving in an aggressive manner” behind another car, before promptly switching to the lane Frendo was in and evidently colliding with him.
“The driver had no intention on stopping and seeing if anyone got hurt, but rather decided to accelerate further to avoid the situation” Frendo explained, “There were another two passengers with me in my car at the moment of the accident, who thankfully did not get hurt in the process. The whole point is that the car could have easily flipped.”
Images attached to the post show the extent of the damage from the incident as well as the exact area the incident occurred in.
Frendo is pleading to the public for any witnesses or camera footage in the area, however, he also made a direct appeal to the accused for coming forward to resolve the situation.
“At this point I am only looking for compensation, but I do also remind you that there are cameras in the vicinity that shall be utilised in the case that you decide to not contact me,” Frendo prefaced.
He also attached an image from Google Maps indicating the exact area of the incident as well as a photo of what the accused’s car looks like.
Frendo is asking individuals with any information to contact him directly through Facebook.
