Birżebbuġa Thieves Hiding Under Plastic And Behind A Door Caught Red-Handed During 2am Żabbar Robbery

Two men were caught midway through an attempted robbery on a construction last night at 2am in Ħaż-Żabbar.

Police received reports of suspicious behaviour around a construction site on Triq Patri Feliċjan Grech, Ħaż-Żabbar on Thursday late in the night.

Upon arrival, officers found the entrance door was broken into and found one of the suspects hiding behind a door on the second floor.

However, police suspected that there may be other thieves involved, and continued searching.

The other suspect who found shortly after hiding underneath some plastic.

The suspects were using a car parked on Triq il-Berebis nearby. Inside the vehicle, officers found stolen wires, tools and extensions.

The homes of the two men, who are 51 and 46-year-old residents of Birżebbuġa, were raided.

A number of objects including a chaser and a large number of tools and wires were also discovered.
