Bonġu Malta Sweetens The Day With New National Cannoli Record
Move over, desserts, Malta has just made history! During yesterday’s popular TV program Bonġu Malta, a new national record was set for the largest number of cannoli made by three people in just five minutes.
The trio, which included none other than Valletta Mayor Olaf Mckay, managed to whip up an astonishing 168 cannoli. Each treat measured around 8cm in length, 3cm in diameter, and together they weighed a whopping 8.4 kilograms.
The record-breaking effort was a team effort: Roberta Preca representing King’s Own Bar & Restaurant, Ramona Farrugia Preca representing Palazzo Preca Restaurant, and Mayor Olaf Mckay combined their skills and speed to make this delicious feat possible.
The live broadcast, aired straight from Valletta’s entrance on national station TVM, gave viewers a front-row seat to all the sweet action.
Fans and locals were quick to celebrate, with many praising the Preca family for their culinary expertise and the Mayor for getting stuck in and helping out.
The program not only showcased Malta’s love for desserts but also highlighted the fun, community spirit that makes these records so special.
Congratulations to everyone involved.
