Bormla To Get An ‘Adventure Park’ With Zip Lines, Archery Range And Water Attractions
You could soon be able to go zip lining in Bormla, with plans for a new ‘adventure park’ unveiled today.
SportMalta announced that land near the Cottonera Sports Complex, around 20,000m2 in size, will be developed into an adventure park, complete with zip lines, walking trails, an archery range, wooden structures, unspecified water attractions, and resting areas.
There will also be areas where children will be able to learn and practice outdoor skills, such as camping.
“These kinds of parks exist overseas and we’ll now have one in Malta too,” SportMalta chairman Luciano Busuttil said.
Parliamentary secretary for sports Clifton Grima said that projects like this show that the government is “there for the people”, incorporating a slogan used by Cabinet members to promote their work.
“Being a government for the people means coming up with projects and ideas which have people at their core,” he said. “SportMalta proposed this innovative concept which will give Maltese families a space to enjoy their free time and strike a work-life balance.”
Bormla mayor Alison Zerafa Civelli endorsed this project, saying the town is full of green areas which can be regenerated into family parks.
