Bring Back The Penis: San Ġwann Potholes Return After Only Four Months
Back in January 2025, San Ġwann residents spotted spray-painted phalluses popping up around a series of unsightly potholes on Bellavista Road.
Shortly after, those same potholes were patched over with tarmac, a quick fix that, it seems, didn’t last long.
Fast-forward just four months, and the potholes have returned. Which begs the question: is it time for the penis graffiti to make a comeback too?
A local resident told Lovin Malta: “The condition of Maltese streets leaves much to be desired. Loose rocks and debris left behind from roadworks pose a serious risk — especially when it comes to skidding during sudden braking.”
Earlier this year, similar penis potholes made headlines in Swieqi and Qormi. While the drawings may have sparked laughs, they also highlighted a real frustration with road maintenance.
