British Man Dies Shortly After Dive In Ċirkewwa

He was part of a larger group of divers


A 50-year-old British diver lost his life today at 11:45am after encountering difficulties that proved to be fatal in Ċirkewwa, the police have announced. 

Two officers from the Mellieħa police station were sent on site where they found the diver in a perilous situation. 

The diver was part of a larger group of divers. He was diving with a partner, when, for some reason, he started experiencing trouble. He was removed from the sea and taken onto land where he was given First Aid by people near the scene.

He was then taken to Mater Dei where he was certified dead. 

The police are continuing their investigations.
