‘Bruno’s Already King Of The Sofa’: Puppy Dumped In Landfill Finds Loving Forever Home With Maltese Couple
One of the puppies recently found by Wasteserv after being dumped in a landfill has officially been adopted into a loving forever home.
After Lovin Malta published a story about MSCPA calling for the owner to be charged and investigated accordingly, the owners of the recently adopted puppy came forward with a beautiful success story.
“We had followed the puppies’ story on Facebook since they were found and immediately fell in love with them,” Georgia told Lovin Malta.
“The poor babies had been through so much in such a short time and we decided to go to the MSPCA to see them. Bruno (or Lenny as he was called at the time), started following us everywhere and wouldn’t leave our side, we knew immediately he was going to be our baby.”
Extending their gratitude towards the MSCPA for their incredible adoption process, the couple commended the NGO for their work from start to finish, with the staff at the shelter being described as kind, knowledgable, and professional.
“Not only did the MSPCA provide vaccinations, and neutering for Bruno, but they also took the time to get to know us and ensure that Bruno was a good fit for our lifestyle and living situation.”
“They made sure that we understood the responsibilities and commitments of owning a dog, and provided us with all the necessary resources to help us become the best dog owners we can be.”
“By day three, Bruno was home where he immediately became king of the sofa.”
“Now that Bruno has been a part of our lives for a while, we can say without hesitation that he is a wonderful dog. He is playful, affectionate, and has brought so much joy and laughter to our home.”
Georgia continued to explain how well Bruno adapted to his surroundings, being both great with people and other animals.
“We knew from the beginning he was a good boy but we could have never imagined to what extent. We didn’t save him, but he saved us.”
“Sadly, there are still far too many animals waiting for their forever homes in shelters across the country. It’s heartbreaking to think that so many animals are left in places such as landfills as was Bruno’s case.”
Georgia also appealed for more education on this sector, and for people to consider adoption as an option when looking to add a furry friend to their family.
“By adopting or fostering, not only are you providing a loving home to an animal in need, but you are also helping to reduce the number of animals in shelters and pet overpopulation.”
“Learning that the MSPCA had found Bruno’s mum, fought for her confiscation, and knowing she is now safe really warmed our hearts.”
“We hope justice is made for Bruno, his siblings, his mother, and all dogs which are mistreated and/or abandoned. Unfortunately, the is still a lot of work to do, but we really hope this becomes a precedent for the future, so that no more dogs have to suffer what they have,” she said.
Only one puppy remains to be adopted from the MSCPA, as all the other dogs involved in this shocking ordeal have thankfully found their forever home.
