Caruana Galizia Murder Suspect Escorted To Zabbar Private Hospital Following Complaints Of ‘Persistent And Unendurable Pain’
George Degiorgio, one of the three men accused of murdering investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia in October 2017, was escorted to a private hospital in Zabbar earlier today.
Online portal iNews showed George Degiorgio, known as Iċ-Ċiniż, handcuffed and walking towards the hospital, while accompanied by some seven hooded security officers.
Degiorgio had previously complained about degrading and inhuman treatment. Just yesterday, lawyer William Cuschieri filed a judicial letter on his behalf, saying Degiorgio had been suffering from “persistent and unendurable pain” in his shoulder for several months.
Last month (November 14th), the Criminal Court had heard the prison director declare that he would be arranging a private clinic appointment for the inmate at Degiorgio’s expense.
Meanwhile, Daphne Caruana Galizia’s son Matthew was in court earlier this morning, where he gave a horrific account of that fateful October day when a car bomb shook his road, Bidnija and the rest of the journalistic world, claiming the life of his mother.
