A new foundation has been launched with the express aim of supporting and empowering other organisations in their much-needed work, and breaking the taboos surrounding their work.

The Taboo Foundation is a new foundation founded by Christabelle Borg, Conrad Borg Manché and Lydia Abela.

“The Taboo Foundation believes that associations and NGOs do an amazing job in our country and in our communities and therefore they deserve nothing less than being supported in every way possible,” the group said ahead of their launch.

The first organisation they’re working with is The Richmond Foundation, supporting their work with mental health

The Foundation is both voluntary and non-profit, and aims to empower already existing associations and NGOs in the same field in order to obtain a number of different results, raise awareness, funds and support their already ongoing and future projects.

While they’ve just launched the Foundation, they’ll be announcing their first community project in the coming weeks.

The announcement comes nearly exactly one year since the President named Christabelle as a Special Ambassador for Mental Health.
