A corpse was found yesterday in the sea off Delimara and this morning, it was identified as a 39-year-old woman from Ħal Tarxien.

She was found in the sea below Xrobb l-Għaġin, at the limits of Marsaxlokk, wearing sports gear and carrying no documents of identification.

The corpse was found at around 10.45 yesterday morning. Upon notification, the Malta Police Force called the armed forces which retrieved the body with a helicopter.

An autopsy to discover the cause of death has been ordered while police investigations are ongoing.
