An elderly man lost his life yesterday afternoon after he was run over by a car in St Paul’s Bay.

Police were informed about the accident at around 2.20pm, which occurred along Triq San Pawl.

The 90-year-old resident of St Paul’s Bay was hit by a Peugeot 207 which was being driven by a 47-year-old Ħamrun resident. 

A medical team was called to the scene of the accident, but unfortunately, the victim was certified dead on site.

Magistrate Charmaine Galea is leading an inquiry while police investigations are still ongoing.
