Thing’s aren’t looking great for Christmas time marine transport.

More Virtu Ferry cancellations have been announced following the most recent terminations due to a forecast of gusts up to Force 10 accompanied by rain and potential hail, this upcoming Christmas week.

The ferry service explained that all Malta to Pozallo voyages scheduled for Saturday 21st December have been cancelled, with extra voyages set to take place the following day to compensate… should the weather allow it.

Meanwhile, The Gozo Channel ferry services have announced their annual shutdown on Christmas and New Year’s day. On both days from 12pm to 3pm, scheduled trips will be cancelled to allow staff sometime to enjoy the festivities with their families.

Despite no terminations related to bad weather were announced from the Malta to Gozo service, companies are urging commuters to stay updated with any oversea transport service’s social media in the coming days.

Plan your trips well, stay safe and have a happy holiday.
