Filthy Residue Cascading Into St Paul’s Bay Sea Has Local Residents Looking For Intervention
A resident of St Paul’s Bay noticed what he described as “another bizarre environmental hazard” – as murky concrete residue cascaded into the sea from a construction site on Triq Luigi.
“I guess that they are in the final stage of the reconstruction – where they started using concrete and washing up their equipment” the resident told Lovin Malta.
“All the dirty construction water has drained into the sea. Maybe the authorities will take action, but I very much doubt it.”
Residents in the locality may be particularly sensitive to sullied seas after a video emerged late last week of a construction crane in Qawra dipping a concrete bucket into the sea.
Though the construction company took immediate action against the employee responsible, many in the Northern Harbour area seem to have had just about enough of the sea being polluted with construction debris.
“Yet another bizarre environmental hazard going on in the St Paul’s Bay Area – where all the dirty construction water is drained into the sea.”
“Obviously, the water that was leaking all over the streets earlier got dried up and now just dirty roads.”

Should the government enforce stricter rules to fine developers polluting our waters?
