First Ever Awards Programme For Excellence In Construction Set To Debut In 2025
Calling all contractors. The first ever Excellence in Construction Awards will be hitting the streets of Malta in less than a year.
Yesterday marked the official inauguration of the initiative that is said to honour the most outstanding demonstrations of excellence, innovation and sustainability and highest standards of quality.
The Excellence in Construction Awards (XCA), supported by the Ministry for Justice and Reform of the Construction Sector, will be open to all contractors and companies that contribute to the advancing construction in the nation. With an international jury set to evaluate each participant on their achievements, the best of the best will be nominated for one or more of twelve total categories.
The categories will include:
- Dedication to Sustainability
- Quality & Workmanship
- Workforce Training & Development
- Commitment to Wellbeing, Health & Safety
- Innovation, Research & Development
- Excellence in Demolition & Excavation Works
- Excellence in Infrastructure & Civil Works
- Excellence in Mechanical & Electrical Installations
- Excellence in Finishing Works
- Conservation Awareness
- Considerate Developer
- Contractor of the Year
“This initiative is more than just a simple rewards programme but, it’s a commitment to recognise excellence, encourage collaboration and inspire future generations in the construction industry,” said Minister for Justice and Reform of the Construction Sector, Jonathan Attard, “Construction is not just about buildings, it’s about our community and the environment we leave behind.”
The first awards ceremony will be held in February 2025, and until then contractors have the chance to register until the 31st October followed by Awards submissions which will begin 20th November and close on 11th December.
