Two men were rushed to hospital this morning after being wounded and falling into the sea following an incident involving a forklift.

At around 9:30am this morning, a 48-year-old Romanian man was operating a forklift at the dockyards in Triq Għajn Dwieli, Paola. As he was working with the forklift, the man hit another man, also Romanian, resulting in the two men falling into the sea following the collision.

The two wounded men were quickly pulled out of the sea and dragged onto the dock, however they had become injured in the accident.

Police and medical assistance were called onto the scene, with the two men being taken by ambulance to Mater Dei where they were confirmed to have been injured grievously.

Police are investigating the case.
