Looking to take charge of your health? This Sunday, Parliament Square in Valletta will turn into a community health hub offering free check-ups and consultations as part of a special World Diabetes Day event.

Organised by the Malta Medical Students’ Association (MMSA) in collaboration with Healthmark, the event will run from 10am to 4pm, giving visitors the chance to check their blood sugar, blood pressure, foot health, and even get personalised nutrition advice, all for free and with no booking needed.

Here’s what you can get checked out

  • Free blood pressure and blood glucose testing (10am–4pm), led by MMSA medical students.

  • Free podiatry checks (10am–12pm) by Healthmark podiatrists to assess circulation and foot health, areas often affected by diabetes.

  • Free dietetic consultations (2pm–4pm) with Healthmark dietitians to discuss nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices.

Diabetes can go undetected for years, and events like this help raise awareness and promote early detection. Healthmark said it wants to make it “as easy as possible for people to check their health, learn more, and take small steps towards prevention.”

Throughout the day, Healthmark nurses will also be on site to offer advice and information about Healthmark’s Care and Therapy At Home services, which include nursing, physiotherapy, audiology, podiatry, and other home-based care options.

So if you’re in Valletta this weekend, take a few minutes to stop by and check in on your health, it might just be the most important thing you do all day.
