Good Girl! Maltese Sniffer Dog Discovers €16,000 Of Undeclared Cash After Routine Check By Suspicious Customs Workers
Malta International Airport’s Customs Canine Unit last night discovered an arriving passenger with a total of €16,000 in undeclared cash, €6,000 over the limit… and it was all thanks to one very good girl.
After growing suspicious of the traveller’s claim to only be carrying €10,000, Sophie, a trained sniffer dog who definitely deserves a treat for her hard work, was brought in to search the person and their belongings, where she discovered the extra money, which was forfeited by the traveller in an out-of-court settlement.
2019 has quickly become a record-breaking year in terms of discovered undeclared cash, despite it still being June
Which is a testament to the great work being done by the Customs Department’s new Canine Unit and the Anti-Money Laundering Team. Go Sophie!
