Health Department Issues Warning Over Maltese Brand Of Bottled Water
The Environmental Health Directorate have issued a warning over H2Only’s two litre range of purified bottled water, saying the product must not be consumed due to the possibility of black rubber inside the bottles.
“In accordance with the Food Safety Act and Regulation (EC) No. 178 of 2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council, the Environmental Health Directorate within the Superintendence of Public Health wishes to inform that following the necessary investigations carried out after receiving information from the public, the mentioned product must not be consumed due to the possible presence of foreign material (fragments of black rubber) inside,” the Directorate said in a statement.
The warning pointed specifically to the two litre bottles range of H2Only as being contaminated, with bottles found labelled to be from Lot 4 02 and and Lot 4 03 not to be consumed particularly.

Island Beverages said the measures were being taken as a precaution, and that suspected contaminated bottles have already been destroyed
The contaminated two litre bottle range has an expiry date of 2020.
