Hit-And-Run In Mosta Leaves Motorcyclist Seriously Injured
A 50-year-old motorcyclist is at risk of dying after being hit by a car in Mosta last night.
The police were informed of a traffic accident on Triq iż-Żejfa around 8.15pm
Initial reports revealed that the man, a resident of Mosta, was riding a Yamaha motorcycle when he was hit by a vehicle which fled the scene.
The vehicle also collided with a Toyota Yaris driven by a 75-year-old resident of Pietà and a Hyundai Atoz driven by a 30-year-old resident of Mosta.
Fortunately, neither of these drivers sustained any injuries.
The motorcyclist received medical assistance on-site and was transported by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was later certified to have sustained serious injuries.
Magistrate Anthony Agius Bonnici is leading an inquiry and police investigations are ongoing.
The search for the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run is still underway.
