Hunters Salute Patron Saint At St Julian’s Feast

During yesterday’s St Julian’s feast hunter members of the Federation for Hunting & Conservation – Malta (FKNK), saluted their patron saint from on top of the town’s parish church.

As is tradition during this feast, hunters fired blanks in honour of St Julian, the patron saint of hunters. This year’s salute was dedicated to one of the FKNK’s Founders and ex-President Joseph Scicluna, who passed away a few days ago.

FKNK, which has been the main sponsor of this event for the past 19 years, took care of the loading and distribution of the blanks and the party after the shooting.

As has also become tradition, the FKNK closed off the salute by releasing a number of turtle doves that were bred in captivity.
