WATCH: ‘I Love You My Son’ – Fgura Puma Owner Claps Back At Online Critics With ‘Birthday Present’

The owner of a puma that lives on a rooftop enclosure in Fgura has uploaded a video to Facebook to answer his critics showing him affectionately covering the animal.

“I Love you too my son, and bdw i bought this house all for you its just a birthday present xxx,” the puma’s owner wrote on Facebook.

A separate video also shows the puma’s rooftop enclosure, and considering its location it’s not that small either!

The footage, however, understandably caused outrage on social media, with a number of people arguing that an exotic wild animal does not belong on a roof top in a heavily developed area.

The owner also shared footage of the puma’s home on the roof, complete with fake cave-looking walls and a water feature

The two videos have already garnered a lot of attention and mixed feelings, with some people saying they were too quick to judge the owner, while others staying true to their initial criticism of the large feline’s conditions

Puma Reactions

Earlier this week, a government official with intimate knowledge of the case confirmed that the puma not only has the authorisation to be there, but is in good shape.

The official also said that the puma lives in an enclosure with a double door system, which is “made in a way that makes it difficult for escapes”.

“The guy was crying – he might look like a tough guy, but he loves animals, and he loves his puma. This whole ordeal has caused a disturbance to him; the authorities gave him authorisation, yet the public still condemn him,” the official said.

Under Maltese law, specifically Legal Notice 46, animals like pumas should be kept in a zoo. However, the law was passed in 2016, and the puma was on the island prior to that year.
