‘Ikla bi Mħabba’ Brings Valentine’s Spirit To Seniors At San Vinċenz De Paul

Over 80 seniors at San Vinċenz De Paul were treated to a special meal full of love, bringing a festive Valentine’s vibe to the residence they now call home.
The idea for this event came from Dr Lydia Abela, the Prime Minister’s wife, who wanted to spread the same love she shares with children through Rigal bi Mħabba at Christmas, by launching something similar for seniors this Valentine’s Day.
Abela teamed up with MasterChef Malta stars Andrew Debattista, Nicholas Bartolo, Florina Silvio and Ian Agius, along with the San Vinċenz team, to cook up a tasty and varied menu for the seniors to enjoy together.

The event even had performances from singers Glen Vella and Jasmine Abela, creating a fun midday celebration for residents who often feel lonely, as many don’t have family visitors anymore.
“Today, we wanted to remind everyone that we should always be there for each other, cheer each other on and help one another,” Lydia Abela stated.
The seniors were thrilled with the event and said they had never imagined they’d have so much fun.
This was the first Ikla bi Mħabba, and it’s hoped that it will become an annual tradition, bringing even more Valentine’s spirit to seniors every year.
