‘I’ll Find A New Way To Knock’: Swieqi Local Council Candidate Breaks Both Arms In Cycling Accident

Swieqi Local Council candidate and activist Jordan Galea Pace just broke both of his arms while documenting a bicycle trip from Swieqi to Mtarfa.
Taking to social media, Galea Pace called out Infrastructure Minister Chris Bonnett, writing, “We need better infrastructure so other accidents won’t happen.”
Galea Pace promised that despite his unfortunate accident, he will keep campaigning for the upcoming local council elections.
“Even if I can’t use both of my arms as they’re both broken and have been ordered to stay home, I will continue campaigning and fighting for every vote”.
“I’ll find a new way to knock,” he stated, adding that “Malta deserves better”.
Lovin Malta reached out to Galea Pace, who revealed that the accident happened yesterday, after he took the decision to cycle to his girlfriend’s house since he was left frustrated in a traffic jam earlier that day.
“Yesterday, after spending all morning and afternoon in traffic, I said to myself – Let me beat the traffic to go to my girlfriend’s house in Mtarfa.”
“So I got out my electric bike and cycled it to Mtarfa,” he told the newsroom.
“While I was on the way, in front of McDonald’s, I had to cycle on the main road and since I felt a car coming close, I cycled closer to the pavement and ended up hitting the high pavement and flying off my bike,” he continued.
However, the Swieqi local council candidate managed to get right back up and cycle through the pain “with the rush of adrenaline” that overcame him.
“When I arrived I couldn’t use both my hands and I went to the polyclinic in Mosta where everyone was super helpful”.
“They took an X-ray and sent me to Mater Dei where they informed me that I broke both my elbows due to the impact.”
Lovin Malta wishes Jordan a speedy recovery. Have you ever experienced a similar situation? Send us an email on [email protected]
