The constant and consistent massive cocaine seizures aren’t stopping anytime soon as the Malta Customs Department announced it found 24kg of cocaine, worth around €2.7 million.

The cocaine, which was split into 20 packets, was found in a container coming from South America, headed for Albania.

A new ‘sophisticated’ scanner at the Malta Freeport found the catch, and it’s not even the only find this week: just last Sunday, 91.2kg of cocaine, worth around €10 million, was found in two containers ostensibly carrying fruits from South America, once again headed towards Europe.

The 24kg of cocaine found yesterday evening were handed over to the Anti-Drug squad to be investigated. A magisterial inquiry was also appointed.
