‘It’s A Celebration, Don’t Wear Black’: Mourners Asked To Wear Colours For Sliema Funeral Of ‘Baby Star’ Thomas
The funeral for two-year-old Thomas Spinoche, who died yesterday after falling into a coma, will be held today with one little difference – mourners are being asked to dress in colourful clothing instead of the traditional black, in celebration of his short but happy life.
“The Mass celebrating the life of baby Thomas will be held at Sliema’s Sacre Coeur church at 1pm,” Thomas’ parents, Denise and Alexander Spinoche, said yesterday. “Our wish is for it to be a celebration so no black please. The more colourful the better. If you wish to express your sympathies, we would greatly appreciate if you would give a donation to Puttinu Cares to help others in need.”
The two-year-old Maltese infant bravely battled the brain damage he was born with until the very last moment
His parents put on every effort to raise funds and give Thomas a chance at a happy life.
Though he was battling brain damage, the Spinoches gave him as many opportunities as they could, taking him swimming and undertaking physiotherapy, as well as taking him abroad for treatment on multiple occasions.
