Jordan Azzopardi’s Girlfriend Denied Bail After Allegedly Offering €20,000 Bribe To Witness
The girlfriend of drug kingpin Jordan Azzopardi has been denied bail after being charged with attempting to bribe a witness who was giving evidence against the pair.
Yesterday, Luke Vella told that the court that Azzopardi’s girlfriend had offered a €20,000 to perjure himself through a man known only as ‘Mangion’. He also claimed that Azzopardi’s girlfriend was not the only person that was sent to offer him money not to testify.
“I was supposed to meet an intermediary and he would tell me what to say,” Vella told the court.
The woman, who is a 31-year-old resident of Madliena, pled not guilty to the charges.
Despite her lawyer, Franco Debono, requesting bail Magistrate Farrugia eventually agreed with the prosecution’s stance that not only were the accusations gravely serious, but the accused was already on bail when this alleged offence took place.
The woman cannot be named due to a court order in a separate case.
