The Mosta Local Council is currently reviewing plans to erect a 15-metre-high obelisk in Pjazza Rotunda.

The obelisk, originally envisioned as part of the design for the Mosta Church by architect Giorgio Grognet de Vassé, has resurfaced as a potential project now under review by the Planning Authority.

When asked for comment, the council stated that they are still evaluating the proposal, and no official stance has been taken. Furthermore, a council member noted that they had only learned about the project earlier today.

Further consultations with residents and experts are expected as discussions on the feasibility and alignment with the square’s broader vision continue.
