Labour Party General Conference Kicks Off This Evening

Today is the start of the Labour Party’s General Conference, during which elections will be held for key roles within the party’s administrative and executive branches.

The conference will begin at around 6pm, followed by a vote.

Delegates will cast their votes for:

Ian Borg for the role of Deputy Leader for Parliamentary Affairs.

Alex Agius Saliba for the role of Debuty Leader for Party Affairs

Norma Saliba vs Alex Sciberras for the position of Labour Party President.

Georvin Bugeja vs John Grech for the position of International Secretary.

Delegates will also vote for 12 members of the executive from a pool of 37 candidates.

Voting will take place between 8pm and 11pm at the Labour National Centre in Ħamrun and the Labour Centre in Ta’ Sannat, Gozo.

It will continue on Saturday from 9am to 2pm in Ħamrun and from 9 am to 1 pm in Ta’ Sannat.
