Looks Like Marlene Farrugia Could Be The Last Person To Be Hoisted On Shoulders At Żebbuġ Band Club
St Philip’s band club lays down the law after ‘F’għoxx il-PN’ village feast chants
The St Philip’s band club of Ħaż-Żebbuġ will no longer allow people to hoist others on their shoulders in light of a video which showed Partit Demokratiku MP Marlene Farrugia dancing as people in the crowd sang ‘F’għoxx il-PN’ during the village feast celebrations.
“We have always remained aloof from politics and indeed two committee members had shut off the music as soon as they realised that it was being abused by a few irresponsible people,” the band club said in a statement. “In the future, we will screen all music before it is played at the club and disallow people from hoisting others on their shoulders.”
Yesterday, PN secretary general Clyde Puli published a clip of Marlene Farrugia and her partner MP Godfrey Farrugia, the latter an honorary president of the St Philip’s Band Club, dancing as people chanted “F’għoxx il-PN”
Puli accused the Farrugia couple of “dancing and chanting to the rhythm of hatred against us”.
However, the Farrugias insisted they hadn’t heard the people chanting the anti-PN song while they danced to the music and accused Puli of editing the video clip to smear them.
