A major demonstration calling for the elimination of violence against women is happening this weekend in St Julian’s.

People are being encouraged to join the Reclaim the Night campaign focused on the lack of safety that women experience in Malta.

Pressure group Moviment Graffitti is leading the demonstration together with a number of local organisations, including Humanists Malta, Women’s Rights Foundation, Young Progressive Beings, MGRM, Integra, YMCA, Doctors for Choice, aditus, and Women for Women.

The march will take place on 2nd December at 6.30pm at the Love Sign in St Julians. People attending are encouraged to wear something purple.

On the event page, Moviment Graffiti has also provided a link for victims of violence to submit accounts of their experiences.

These will then be shared during the march, either anonymously or personally by the victim.
