Maltese Organisation Set To Climb Highest Mountain In Africa For Charity
The Kilimanjaro Challenge Malta is a local Nonprofit Organisation. They often take up mountaineering challenges and organise events to help others who are less privileged than us.
They’ve inaugurated a kindergarten school in Ethiopia back in January, which marked their 11th project to date. It’s not just about education, but mostly about helping the children who attend have better access to food and clean water.
This energetic team of 17 people is set to climb yet another mountain in the name of charitable causes. They have worked tirelessly to be both physically and mentally prepared to face this challenge — climbing one of the highest mountains on earth.
In the past few years the group have managed to finance schools, clinics, convents and a house for physically challenged children in Kenya.
‘We live in a very protective society and have no idea of the concept of suffering. These children struggle for their life day in, day out.” Keith Marshall said during the press conference held earlier today.
This year’s challenge is to collect €90,000. The aim of this challenge is to build a Centre for Disabled Children in Bonga, Ethiopia.
“We are not going to change the world with our challenge, but we will support the reinstatement of justice for these children” Marshall said.
The aim of today’s press conference was to getting enough funds to make a proper difference for these children. The group is already being sponsored by some leading Maltese organisations. However, they still need more sponsors to support this cause.
A barbecue will be organised at the Hilton Hotel on the 31st of July, aimed to host around 300 people in order to raise funds for this great cause. All proceedings will go towards financing this project.
They will also be running a media campaign to raise funds through donations made from the public.
