A 54-year-old Qormi resident is in hospital fighting for his life after he was involved in a car crash in Birżebbuġa.

A police survey discovered the collision between a Mazda 2 driven by the victim and a concrete mixer truck of the brand MAN driven by a 31-year-old male resident of Dingli.

Police were informed of the incident in Triq Ħal-Far yesterday at around 3.15pm.

The Qormi resident was treated by a medical team on site before being taken to Mater Dei Hospital by an ambulance where his condition was certified as serious.

Police investigations are currently ongoing.
