Man Charged With Raping Housemate In Malta
The abuse had been going on for two years
After two years of ongoing sexual abuse and intimidation, a Portuguese man was charged with raping his housemate.
Following an argument concerning a mobile phone, his Turkish partner could no longer stand the situation that she was in. This prompted her to report her horrifying situation to the police.
Allegedly, the Turkish woman was also being spied on and threatened by her partner and it seems that the abuse had been going on from around October 2016.
The unnamed man faces a total of 17 charges, which include rape, harassment, stalking, and threats. The rape charges are not even the brunt of it all, since he is also accused of tracking and monitoring her use of internet and other means of communication.
The duty magistrate Gabriella Vella, issued a temporary protection order in favour of the woman.
