Massive Crowd Gathers As Valletta’s Iconic Christmas Lights Light Up The Streets
A massive attendance of people witnessed to the beautiful illumination of the Valletta streets, marking one month until Christmas day.
Chairman of the Valletta Cultural Agency, Jason Micallef, alongside Minister for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government, Owen Bonnici, were the ones to officially launch the colourful light display with the press of a button at Pjazza Teatru Rjal.
Valletta’s long stretch of road that sees thousands of foot traffic every day was lit up once again to continue the ongoing tradition to put both tourists and residents in the festive spirit.
“Only one month left until the most beautiful time of the year,” said Micallef in a Facebook post, “What a beautiful atmosphere we created at Belt Valletta, with massive crowds of people aiding to light up the main roads of our capital.”
The post also mentioned that the Christmas celebrations this year will be “the biggest program of events we’ve ever held in our country’s capital.” With the promise of 25 activities for everyone to enjoy, the iconic lights display and many other attractions.
