Michelle Muscat Wins Another Award... In The Bahamas

The Prime Minister's wife received the award at a ceremony in Nassau

The Prime Minister’s wife Michelle Muscat has won another award for her philanthropic work, this time from a Bahamas-based womens’ rights organisation.

Michelle Muscat - who chairs the Marigold Foundation - was given this award during a ceremony in Nassau presided over by Marguerite Pindling - the governor general of the Bahamas.

The Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement that Michelle Muscat gave several presentations about the Marigold Foundation during her trip, with the intention of expanding the NGO’s operations and building its relations with other Commonwealth countries ahead of next year’s CHOGM summit in London.

She was accompanied by the Marigold Foundation’s executive secretary Jennifer Xuereb and by the former head of Malta’s CHOGM task force Phyllis Muscat.

The announcement comes a day after Muscat was named National Volunteer of the Year by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector - a government entity.
