‘My Heart Breaks’ – Maltese Boy Spends First Day In Hospital Instead Of School

Today should have been a milestone, the very first day of Kinder 2. But instead of walking into class to make new friends and discover the joys of school, one Maltese child is spending the day in hospital care.

In an emotional post, the Tommy’s shared the bittersweet moment, writing how their heart breaks knowing their little one is missing out, but also acknowledging that God had other plans. For now, the child will be enjoying quality time with their super grandparents, while continuing treatment.

The family also expressed their gratitude to the staff at Rainbow Ward and to Puttinu Cares, who have helped make hospital visits far more bearable with their care, compassion and support.

It’s a poignant reminder of the resilience of Maltese families, the strength of children, and the importance of the organisations who walk alongside them in the toughest of times.
