9 Of The Best Photos From Yesterday’s Environment Protest In Valletta

Article Featured Image

You may have missed it in the midst of two thrilling World Cup games, but a couple of hundred of people took to the streets of Valletta to protest against environmental destruction yesterday evening.

Spurred by concern over the uprooting of trees across Malta, the protestors marched through Republic Street, chanting cries such as ‘Save our soil’ and ending up outside the law courts to listen to a few speeches.

The jury is out on whether the protest was a success or not, with some people present bemoaning the lack of numbers and others praising the environmental NGOs for managing to mobilise that many people in the first place in a short span of time.

Regardless of that, many protestors clearly made an effort for the demonstration, as can be seen from some of these standout photos.
