111kg of cannabis resin has been confiscated by the Malta Police Force after weeks of observation resulted in a search of a house in Birkirkara. 

A 55-year-old and a 25-year-old man have both been arrested and are currently being held in custody in association with trafficking and possession of the substance in a way that does not denote personal use.

The police are reporting that the hash was wrapped and ready to be trafficked. 

The men will be appearing in front of Magistrate Dr. C Scerri Herrera today at 4pm. The 25-year-old man has also been accused with breaking conditions related to his bail. 

Magistrate Anthony Vella is leading the inquiry and has appointed various experts in the investigation.
