Over 170 Roadchecks And 400 Tickets Issued In The Last 10 Days To Ensure Safe Driving
In the ongoing crackdown on drunk driving and road safety, especially throughout the festive season, the Malta Police Force has been hard at works keeping our streets safe.
With more than 170 roadchecks and a whopping 4,700 vehicles stopped over the past 10 days, officials ensured that drivers were following road laws and issuing any appropriate charges to those breaking them.
Over 85 speeding tickets were issued, 11 drivers tested positive via breathalyser tests and multiple vehicles were also towed after being found to have expired or invalid licenses.
“These efforts ensured another festive season with no serious traffic accidents across Malta and Gozo.” The Police reported. “A big thank you to the majority of drivers who adhered to traffic regulations and helped keep our roads safe!”
To further prevent any use of vehicles while inebriated, officers distributed and affixed “Don’t Drink and Drive” pamphlets to car windshields.
Lovin Malta extends its sincerest gratitude for the service of the Police and their ongoing efforts.
