Over 300 Road Projects Completed In Malta In Just One Year

More than 300 infrastructure projects were wrapped up across Malta over the past year, according to Transport and Infrastructure Minister Chris Bonett.
That’s over €50 million in investment covering more than 360,000 square metres of road – the equivalent of 50 football pitches. The works included maintenance, road reconstruction, improved service networks and better access to rural areas.
“Roads and infrastructure affect all of us in our daily lives,” Bonett said. “These projects have led to a real, tangible improvement in people’s day-to-day experience.”
He added that the government has stepped up communication with the public to minimise inconvenience, especially with larger projects like the one at Msida Creek. “Thanks to better preparation and clear updates, we can reduce disruptions for everyone,” he said.

Bonett also announced that road marking and line painting will now take place during off-peak hours, as part of the ‘Reshaping Our Mobility’ plan aimed at making smarter use of Malta’s existing road network.
“We are committed to moving forward respectfully with the communities we work in, to keep improving Malta’s infrastructure,” Steve Ellul, CEO Infrastructure Malta said.
The work forms part of a wider plan that includes ongoing projects like the Central Spine Active Mobility project and Vjal Kulħadd, aimed at creating safer, more inclusive and accessible streets for everyone – whether you drive, walk or cycle.
