Overnight Roadworks On Two Maltese Major Roads Scheduled For The Rest Of The Week
Major roadworks will be taking place all night long tonight at Triq tal-Balal and from Triq Aldo Moro along the Marsa-Ħamrun Bypass.
These two areas will be closed off between 8pm and 6am. It all starts tonight, and they’ll stay closed off during these hours for the rest of this week.
Drivers will be guided towards alternative routes by traffic management officers present on site, so don’t sweat this one out too much. You will also be guided by signs and lights.
The Tal-Balal project involves the rebuilding of four roundabouts, new bypass lanes, a third lane, improved junction designs and the widening of roads present.
The Marsa-Ħamrun project, on the other hand, started earlier this year, and includes the rebuilding of the four-lane road and the introduction of two new lanes.
Both projects are aimed are reducing congestions and bottlenecks, will improving the flow of traffic throughout these two major arteries.
Apart from all this, the Marsa-Ħamrun project will also be developing new underground water networks, major makeovers for the central strips and lighting systems, new pavements and new electricity and telecommunications underground tunnels.
