The Phoenicia Malta Looks Back On A Year Of International Awards And Accomplishments
As 2024 comes to an end, The Phoenicia Malta celebrates and reminisces on its outstanding achievements throughout such an eventful year.
This year saw an extreme amount of international success for the upscale hotel, with the titles of Best Spa Hotel for Europe and Best Large Luxury Hotel for Europe, making it well on its way for an overall international award.
Its achievements are not only recognised through awards but also through publications, as following its success in the Luxury Travel Guide Awards at Hazlewood Castle in Yorkshire, UK, the hotel will be proudly featured in the Awards’ publication during the upcoming spring.
Additionally, the Australia-based Luxury Travel Magazine recently announced that Phoenicia Malta was shortlisted for the highly prized Gold List Awards as well, as announced earlier this month.
As a proud member of The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW), the distinguished organisation shortlisted The Phoenicia Malta for the Remarkable Experiences Award among 400 independent luxury hotels in attendance at the annual convention in Marbella, Spain.
On our home turf the hotel’s Bastion Bar & Restaurant and the recently-opened Contessa made it to the Top 10 in Malta at the Definitive(ly) Good Guide Malta & Gozo 2025 Awards.
Since opening merely one year ago, Contessa has stunned nationwide, being deemed as having the “Best Italian Selection Wine List” as well as one of most dedicated staff members, earning it both gold and silver awards in the Waiters’ Service and Static Display competitions from The Mediterranean Tourism Forum.
“From our awards and nominations across international stages to our first fantastic year of Contessa, the hotel continues to set new standards for hospitality and dining and create exceptional experiences. I’m excited to see what new heights we can achieve in 2025,” says Robyn Pratt, General Manager at The Phoenicia Malta. “It is a testament to the passion, dedication and excellence of our team, who continually strive to delight and inspire our guests. For that, I am truly proud to be part of this wonderful team.”
On the topic of dedicated staff, young student and The Phoenicia Malta chef Neil Peresso, was honoured with Most Promising Young Chef of the Year award, being deemed “a rising star whose passion and creativity have already begun to leave a mark on the industry.”
The hotel continues wearing its titles proudly as the country’s only Leading Hotel and official UNESCO World Heritage Site and with hundreds, if not thousands of guests being welcomed every year, it’s safe to assume those titles will only increase in the upcoming year.
