A 23-year-old man and a 30-year-old man, both from Qormi, were standing under the balcony when the bricks and chute fell. They were working on the balcony itself on Triq Andrew Bogdan as part of their work.

An ambulance was called for immediate assistance and the men were rushed to Mater Dei hospital. The 23-year-old was certified with serious injuries while the other man’s condition is as yet unknown.
