Repubblika has just filed an official report to the Police Commissioner and deputy commissioner, demanding an official investigation into Joseph Muscat.

Muscat was wired a total of €60,000 in “consultancy fees” from Swiss company Accutor AG, that received millions from Steward Healthcare, just a few months after his resignation.

“We need to put a stop to the culture of impunity that Joseph Muscat is still benefiting from,” Aquilina said in his speech.

The civil society group gathered in front of the Financial Crimes Investigations Department (FCID) this morning in Ħamrun, as Repubblika president Robert Aquilina delivered a speech.

“I will repeat again what I’ve already said recently in Valletta, Joseph Muscat belongs in prison,” Aquilina said.

“We need a serious investigation that leaves no stone unturned. The impunity in our country needs to stop,” he said.

Within the formal report, it was included that two ex-directors of the Swiss company declared that they would be willing to collaborate with the police.

This comes after it was unveiled in the Sunday Times that Joseph Muscat brought in thousands from a company in Switzerland that was involved in the VGH hospital deal.

The two directors, Kamal Sharma and Tyrone Greenshields, are currently both situated in the United Kingdom.

“What has kept the FCID back from investigating into Joseph Muscat?” Aquilina questioned.

Repubblika is appealing for the Commissioner to launch a Joint Investigation Team together with Scotland Yard, to interview the two directors as soon as possible.

This comes after the NGO camped out in front of the Police Headquarters for three whole nights, demanding charges against Konrad Mizzi.
